Odalisk (detail)
The woman-object "odalisk" (the female slave in a Turkish harem) has always intrigued me: not her reality of course, but rather her presence in oriental fairy tales.
We are sometimes intrigued by the figure we could never accept to be....
The painting was a present to my (now deceased) father for his birthday.
