Madonna I
The persona of the religious "Madonna" has intrigued me throughout my life: I have decided to create a series of paintings under this title.
In this particular work, the Madonna is surrounded by the environmental pollution as I have artistically expressed it in a number of my works created in 2007: stains of blood, black intruding lines, paper collages with the enlarged photos of viruses. The Madonna is "responding" to these attacks by absorbing the human pain and bleeding inside her body.
